Today, I am excited to announce that Dan Burstein has joined Paxos as our General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. While Dan has been with Paxos on an interim basis, we are delighted he will now be with us full-time. I’ve known Dan and worked closely with him for some time – he is honest, transparent and committed to acting within the letter of the law. Having him join Paxos validates our mission, core values and competitive positioning.
Dan has a breadth of experience in corporate law. He started his career at a high-profile New York law firm, helped lead the New York Department of Financial Services in its pioneering digital currency regulatory efforts and then was a leading consultant specializing in investigations and compliance for fintechs, banks, and other financial institutions. He has built a broad and valuable experience base and uniquely understands the challenges Paxos faces as we digitize the global economy.
As our Interim Chief Compliance Officer, Dan spearheaded our engagement with the NYDFS to facilitate our very successful launch of PAX. His impressive work and insight led to PAX being the first digital asset ever approved by a financial regulator.
We are at an important inflection point. Paxos has a a big vision and mission to change the global economy and we are working hard on numerous products that can help enable the future. Dan is joining at this exciting time in our evolution and I am confident we are stronger with him as part of our team.
