“Good Delivery” is the highest quality, investment-grade gold. It is a specification system standardized by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). To be deemed London Good Delivery, a bar of gold must meet all of the rules regarding the physical characteristics of gold (weight, purity/fineness, size, etc.) and have markings to denote such on the bar itself. All London Good Delivery gold bars are identified by serial number and weight. The LBMA keeps a Good Delivery List that formally recognizes and accredits refiners that produce gold that meets the LBMA’s specifications for London Good Delivery.
